Winthrop Marathon & Half

The Winthrop Marathon is in sunny and scenic Winthrop, WA where the sun shines more than 300 days out of the year! The net-downhill race is an excellent Boston qualifier with unique medals for all finishers with a catered post race meal. What more could you ask for?!

Starting on the edge of the of the Pasayten Wilderness in the Okanogan National Forest at an altitude of 3,100 ft the marathon course loses 1,000 ft in the first 10 miles as it follows the wild Chewuch River to the “western” Town of Winthrop. In all, the marathon loses 1,450 ft and gains just 150 ft for a net loss of 1,300 ft. The half marathon, which begins at the half way point in the marathon course, loses 520 feet and only gains 130 for a net loss of almost 400 ft.
