No time for shopping now, the outlets will be open after the race. Heading to Conway you will encounter one of the only hills on the course. The course takes a right turn onto East Side Road. Be among the first racers to cross the Saco River on the historic 1890 Covered Bridge. Turn right onto West Side Road. Enjoy the scenery of local valley farms with the beautiful White Mountains ahead. The course will turn right onto River Road. This will be the last uphill of the day. This race course was absolutely gorgeous! Most of the race was alongside a river with some waterfalls here and there, on a road closed to traffic, and tree-lined the whole way. It was a downhill course (my first), and while everyone says how much it will hurt your quads, I didn’t find it to be any problem. The packet pickup building was a bit hard to find using a GPS, but the vendors and photo ops were great. I wasn’t a fan of the tiny post-race food offerings, so pack your protein bars for after the race.
