This year we’re running for heroes. The 5th Annual Patriots Race at White Chapel Memorial Park Cemetery will benefit Michigan veterans and their families through the Michigan Wounded and Returning Warrior Program.
All events will take place within White Chapel’s beautifully landscaped 210 acre private property. The races will run through its American flag-lined roadways and around stirring monuments to veterans and service members from conflicts as early as WWI. Race experts believe the White Chapel Patriots Race 5K and 10K courses may be the flattest, straightest and fastest in Southeast Michigan. In addition to the timed 5K and 10K runs, the race schedule will include a timed 5K run/walk and 10K run only and a non-competitive (un-timed) 1 mile run/walk.
Every registrant will receive a t-shirt and every finisher will receive a commemorative medal. And there will be medals awarded to the top three 5K and 10K Male/Female finishers.
The event includes activities for the young and the young at heart, including face painting and letter-writing to overseas service members. Post race food will be offered to the athletes in the packet pick up area.
Donations will be accepted for the active troops.
