The Waverly Park Trail Bash will be run on the amazingly runnable Turkey Run Park (Parklands) Trail System! Choose from a 1 lap 1/4 marathon (6.55 miles) or a 2 lap half marathon option through these wonderfully underrated trails. WITH CURRENT TRAIL CONDITIONS THE COURSE HAS BEEN REROUTED OFF TRAIL AND ON TO THE LOUISVILLE LOOP NEAR THE SILO CENTER. Due to the rising COVID cases in Jefferson County, we will be working with the Parklands to host the second running of Waverly Park Trail Bash.
Runners will receive a race shirt, great finishers medal (both races) overall and age group awards, professional chip timing, free race photos, and a beautiful course on beginner-friendly trails.
Split times will be recorded and text messaging of splits and finish times will be available.
We will be enforcing a 3:30 cutoff time (~16 minute/mile pace) for the half marathon.
The loop runs counter clockwise. 1/4 Marathon runners complete one loop while 1/2 Marathon runners complete two.
You can expect high quality swag, beautiful race venues, and the wonderful community that surrounds trail running at each of our Trail Bash events. Run all three events and receive a special series award!

OK – I say it’s a challenging course, but it was my first time on it and only my 2 1/2 trail race (not really sure I’m counting my first trail race from 3 years ago). But it was a great day weather-wise and I’m thankful for that. The trail was also suitable for bikes so there were a lot of man-made bunny hills that hurt like the dickens after awhile. The race management is superb and the swag was a tall coffee mug, super-soft tech t-shirt, and a glow in the dark medal. I’m trying not to be bummed about my time, but we did come to a stop helping a fellow runner to wiped out and broke? sprained? his ankle. My group took it a bit slower after that as a precaution. Then we took an extended break at the halfway pit stop with pickles, M&Ms and nuts. All in all – I had a great experience and I think I’m picking up the trail-running bug.
