Valtellina Wine Trail Marathon Tirano, Italy   Nov 8, 2025

The great classic of the end of the season, the Valtellina Wine Trail features a competition that combines sport and food and wine, with three routes through the vineyards and the ancient villages of the middle Valtellina, and in the most prestigious wineries in Valtellina. The route passes through cultural sites such as the Basilica of the Madonna di Tirano, the Torre de li Beli Miri and the Palazzo Besta in Teglio, the Santa Casa in Tresivio and the Castel Grumello in Montagna in Valtellina.

The starting point in Tirano is located at an altitude of 450m and surrounded by mountains: to the south the Valtellina Orobie Prealps, to the north the Bernina massif and to the north-east that of the Stelvio. The town is located near the confluence of the rivers Adda and Poschiavina, the latter almost entirely in Swiss territory. This spectacular running race passes through vineyards, cellars, ancient villages and palaces of Valtellina before arriving on the final catwalk in the elegant center of Sondrio.

Expect a day of great sport and full of emotions with incredible views from the trails that wind through vineyard terraces with passages inside the cellars where the fine wines of Valtellina are produced.
