We lucked out with PERFECT weather, overcast and cool. I enjoy loop courses, and this one was so cleverly done that I hardly realized where the loop was happening. Made it so fun to see volunteers multiple times, and they were great, so nice! Came in at my 3rd-fastest, so LOVE!

Well organized raced and amazing volunteers. This race offered mail out bibs which I opted for and was convenient for my travel plans.
The volunteers and race support were the real stars on the course: always cheering and plenty at the aid stations.
Scenery was nice going through more rural neighborhoods. There were no road closures and cars were frequently on the course. Runners were running with traffic which made it very nerve-wracking hearing cars suddenly zooming behind you. Some cars were courteous to runners on the course and others were not.
Post race was nice. Not a lot of variety but good energy.
Heads up to slower pace runners, this race has a minimum pace of 13:44. If you do run on the slower side, I recommend a different race.

I love running in HMF events. Their races are well organized with good course support, nice courses, nice medals, and a cold beer at the finish. I would definitely recommend getting to the race at least an hour before the start, parking filled up really fast. I would also recommend picking up your shirt and bib the day before, so you’re not running to your car and back to the start, which were rather far away. The race shirts run a bit on the small side, so bear that in mind when ordering yours. The course was pretty, a lot of it was along the river. About half the course was in the shade, and the other half was in the sun. Something to bear in mind is some of the roads are open to traffic during the race, so don’t run 2+ people across, and avoid headphones so you can hear the vehicles coming.

Last years medal was designed to look like a grill cheese sandwich. The vendors after the race were great. Only wish it wasn’t raining. I would recommend this for anyone who likes to compete. The atmosphere was amazing and fun to be around. I would recommend arriving early since parking fills up quickly.
