Turkey Rock

Ready for some Thanksgiving fun? Get those turkey tail feathers and pilgrim’s hats on and come on out for the Turkey Rock, an annual Thanksgiving day run! The course is point-to-point and starts on the path adjacent to Group Area 4. The course starts out on a flat tree-lined nature trail that varies between asphalt and dirt and runs along the lake and the historic portion of Tule Springs where you will enjoy the beautiful lakes, lush vegetation, ducks and peacocks! Then it takes you out onto the crushed limestone basin trail around the park surrounded by beautiful desert landscape, shaded picnic areas and views of the Sheep and Spring Mountains where you will finish at Group Area 5.

This course is very different from your basic road or park trail 10K/5K races. It’s fun, fast and provides a variety of terrain and scenery. There is nothing difficult and no trail shoes needed! The 1-mile fun walk participants will follow the same course out a half a mile and then will turnaround and finish where it started. It is easy walking for the beginner as well as a fast course for the advanced runner that wants to PR!
