Tackle the Potowatami & Crooked Lake Trails with us as we celebrate over 35 years of trail! The course is neither flat nor fast, but it is a beautiful loop with constant hills through Michigan’s Pinckney State Recreation Area.
The 5 mile, Full & Half Marathon and 50K Courses at Trail Weekend all start and finish on Silver Lake Beach. All courses are wide, hilly single track trail that will kick your butt! We love it and hope you will too!
Half Marathon – 13.1 loop
Full Marathon – 13.1 loop twice
50K – 13.1 loop twice plus 5 mile loop
The Road Ends Course is five tough but beautiful miles along the Crooked Lake path! As hilly as any section of the half or full marathon, this is a kick butt trail course that is sure to please … and beat you to a pulp!
Half, Full, 50K starting on Silver Lake Beach you will head south until you reach the Losee Lake Trail Head. About ¼ mile up this trail you will stay right and cross the park entrance road. Bear left on the road 100 yards and you will come to a small circular parking area on your right. Follow the Potawatomi trail out of the south end of this circle area and continue to follow “Poto” in a clockwise direction until the “short cut” at the Rogucki Bench. Head east on the shortcut to Glenbrook. You will cross Glenbrook Rd. go left on Glenbrook 50 yards and enter the gravel road on your right. About 100 yards down this road you’ll hook up with “Poto” again and turn right, across the bridge and on to the finish following “Poto”. When you get to about mile 12.5 Poto turns right, which is away from the lake. This is so the mountain bike traffic does not get to the beach. You will continue straight south on this trail to the beach and finish line.
You won’t get lost race day because of our marking, but your first solo trip around this course may be a bit tricky, but worth the adventure!

I don’t think they could find more hills in all of Michigan. When you weren’t going down, you were going up…I burned through my Tailwind and did the last 6 miles on Gatorade…definitely not as helpful as Tailwind…
