We wanted to offer two very different options that will appeal to different people’s idea of fun.

5K
Race, run or hike the 5K+ loop.
50K Pay Your Dues
This is where things get interesting. This is not a TPK original idea but we loved it so much we had to offer our own.
Much like a backyard ultra or last man standing style event, runners must run a 5K+ loop on the hour. They will need to finish within an hour and be ready to go on the next hour to do it all over again. This will be done 5 times, so hour 0 (zero), 1, 2, 3 and hour 4 totaling ~16 miles. All that is like a buy-in aka paying your dues for the actual race. On hour 5 every one that has finished paying their dues will start the ~14.5 mile loop. Placement is determined by finishing order on the final loop.
Course Details
Disparate Fun’s headquarters will be based in the Snow Bowl parking lot, next door to Jefferson High School. The 5K loop will start by sending you out to the fire tower on the old ski hill. This course has a steep climb within the first half mile before flattening out for a bit. Once you start making your way down the final decent will finish the course by running the last mile on the cross country course contained in the Snow Bowl lot. As for the final ~14.5 mile loop for those doing the 50K Pay Your Dues option…. well we are keeping that portion a secret for now. Just know that there is roughly 1900ft of elevation and will only share 0 miles of trail with the 5K option.
Things to note
-We will have 1 aid station at HQ for the 5K.
-We will have the following aid stations for the 14.5 mile loop.
— Mile 5 – Water Only
— Mile 10 – Full Aid Station
— Mile 13.5 – Water Only
-Drop bags are only allowed at the HQ start/finish area.
-Crewing is only allowed at the HQ start/finish area.
-No on-course support allowed, no pacers.
50K Pay Your Dues:
-You must complete each 5K within the hour and be at the start area for the next 5K start or you are out.
-You must complete all five rounds of the Pay Your Dues portion in order to start the final 14.5 Mile Loop.
-Your final placement is determined by your finish placement in the final 14.5 Mile Loop.
Awards
We will have custom awards for all finishers. We will also have podium awards for top 3 male and top 3 female in both the 5K and 50K Pay Your Dues.
