Get back to your racing lifestyle after the pandemic by participating in the Tour the Trace. This event checks all the right boxes when it comes to testing your long distance endurance. Tour the Trace is raising the bar as it aims to become a premier time trial event both nationally and internationally. Athletes can expect a fast and scenic event held in late fall providing unpredictable weather and beautiful fall foliage.
Event Details
Tour the Trace will be quite the challenge for professional athletes as the course spans across 444 miles. Due to the location and timing of this event, you will have to prepare well in advance if you want to find yourself celebrating at the finish line. Start working on your fitness as you will need every ounce of strength to complete the course and go home a finisher.
Tour the Trace is considered a long distance endurance event. You can expect to compete with teams and athletes from all around the world. Four days of time trial cycling will allow you to test your skills against professional cyclists. Winding through Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee, you will have to give it your all to finish this event.
In an effort to comply with both local and federal laws, you will be required to maintain a minimum of 17 MPH to meet specific cutoff times.
Location
Tour the Trace will take place on the Natchez Trace Parkway, a historic location in the United States. It was a route for animals to migrate between the pastures of western and central Mississippi to the Plateau. Following their paths were the Native Americans and European travelers. The national parkway was a popular trade route between the Mississippi River and Nashville.
The event will begin at the Loveless Cafe just south of Nashville, TN and wrap up 4 days later in the historic city of Natchez, MS. Athletes can expect the event to be scenic and fast. Enjoy your time in the country while you participate and compete against the best cyclists worldwide.
The Natchez Trace Parkway is known for its rich wildlife and beautiful waterfalls. During this time of the year, the foliage is colorful ensuring you enjoy every moment on this course. The scenery is breathtaking but make sure you arrive prepared as the weather in late November can be a bit unpredictable.
Stage Details
Stage 01 – Starts at the Loveless Cafe just South of Nashville, TN and runs 139 miles south through Alabama and finishing in Tishomingo, MS. Athletes can expect 4,905′ of elevation gain and 5,026′ of elevation drop.
Stage 02 – Starts in Tishomingo, MS and runs 145 miles south finishing in Kosciusko, MS. Athletes can expect 2,772′ of elevation gain and 2,808′ of elevation drop.
Stage 03 – Starts in Kosciusko, MS and provides an easy recovery day with only 60 miles finishing up in Ridgeland, MS. Athletes can expect 285′ of elevation gain and 413′ of elevation drop.
Stage 04 – Starts in Ridgeland, MS and runs the final 100 miles south to finish in Natchez, MS. Athletes can expect 2,303′ of elevation gain and 2,418′ in elevation drop.
Awards
All participants will receive a Primal Wear event t-shirt along with a welcome bag from our partners at tour registration. Including a 20% code for Primal Wear Apparel.
Stage Awards: All finishers of each stage will receive a custom finisher medal. When combined these medals will create a unique set.
Challenge Awards: All Challenge finishers will receive a unique custom designed Primal Wear Omni cycling jersey along with a 5th medal to complete the set.
