Come party with us at The Hamsterwheel! Starting near the Hillsborough County Fairground entrance, runners will make their way outward on the New Boston Rail Trail along the Piscataquog River to the turnaround point at Lang’s Station.
ALL RACES START in 15 minute intervals AT 9:00AM ON SATURDAY: Runners will return on that trail and turn right onto the gravel service road that runs the perimeter of the fairgrounds. The continuous loop is 4.0 miles in total and is largely flat with one minor speedbump… it’s scenic and gentle on the legs. A great opportunity for someone looking to try ultrarunning for the first time or for seasoned runners to see just how many miles they can accomplish.
Loop tracking will be handled again this year by Second Wind Timing at the Start/Finish via chipped Bibs. To ensure an accurate total, runners should post their bibs to the FRONT of their bodies (shirt/shorts/pants) and the number should be clearly visible.
Buckles! Heck yeah!! Come run 100 fun miles individually with us and you get the special Hamsterwheel belt buckle with the Zombie red eyes!!

I drive from Central NY every year for this race. The atmosphere, production, food, support….all absolutely excellent.
I have run the 12 hour twice and the 24 hour once. The course is a lollipop 4 mile loop. At registration you receive a chain with a dog tag. Every loop you receive a token with the loop number to add to the chain. You can either take it or collect them later or hand them off, etc. Mostly flat but there is one hill every loop which most people walk. At night there are lanterns lighting some of the darker paths.
The food is excellent. As a vegetarian there are plenty of options for me to choose throughout the day and night.
There is music at different times and movies and karoake are played for the support crews. Camping is allowed.
I learned about this race from a friend and I’m so glad I gave it a try. I’ve always had such a good experience at this race even when my body stopped cooperating.
