We call this an urban ultra run (meaning lots of pavement – some easy trails), because a good portion of this course is run on the paved GHS Swamp Rabbit Trail. You will run the Swamp Rabbit Trail Urban Ultra inside the beautiful Lake Conestee Nature Park, with stunning views of forests, grasslands, lakes and rivers. There are rolling hills on the course, but overall, it’s pretty flat for elevation. The best news is that you will pass a fully stocked aid station every 5 kilometers, with bathrooms located every 10ks. You will also come through the finish line every 10ks, giving you a great chance to access your personal supplies, change clothing or just enjoy the support of family and friends. This is a wonderful course for first time ultra participants.
AMAZING SUPPORT: This is a loop course and there will be aid stations and bathrooms every 5 kilometers.
AWARDS: Awards for top three female runners and the top three male runners. Course will remain open until 2:30pm.
PHILOSOPHY: Swamp Rabbit Urban Ultra is the ideal first ultra race. Most ultra runs are on technical trails, involve running at night, perhaps getting lost, maybe falling down a few times and usually require that you travel a fair distance to participate. The Swamp Rabbit Urban Ultra removes all of those issues, but will still test you past anything you have ever done in a regular marathon. The race distances are 50 Km/31 miles and 25 Km/15.75 miles. We will do our best to get you to the finish line – but ultimately, like any race, regardless of the distance, you are responsible for your own well-being. All runners are strongly encouraged to carry at least one water bottle or a hydration pack. Run hard, but run smart. Bring friends.
FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY: We are featuring 4 running races during the Get Out Greenville Festival at Lake Conestee Nature Park, so there is an opportunity for friends and family to run the same course you will. They can sign up for the Get Out Greenville 10K or the 1.5 Mile Kids Race at https://book-events.com/. The Get Out Greenville Festival will also feature vendor demos, games, activities, food, music and more. Bring the whole family for a fun-filled day.
