The nonprofit, RRCA-sanctioned St. Charles Runners Club is proud to present the FLAT FIVE. This unique event includes a 5 Mile run, a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk and a 50 Meter Toddler Trot.
The events are set in the 19th century atmosphere of historic downtown St. Charles, MO, starting and finishing on the St. Charles riverfront in the north end of Frontier Park, directly behind Missouri’s first state capitol. Parking lots are located on the west side of Riverside Drive. The large bandstand serves as our race headquarters.
The 5 Mile course begins on the roads as it takes the runners through historic St. Charles’s Frenchtown district and then into DuSable Park. After exiting DuSable Park, the runners will run the final stretch of the course on the Katy Trail. There is a water station in the park – which the runners pass two times. The 1 Mile course is an out-and-back on the Katy Trail. The Toddler Trot is held in the grass, so it is safe for very wobbly toddlers!
Back again this year – cash prizes for the top three Overall male/female, awards for the top finishers and age groups, trophies for all 1 mile fun run finishers and soft-style shirts! A portion of the proceeds from this event benefits local charities.
