For the first time ever we are super excited to be bringing the Endless Summer Trail Run Series to Spring Lake Park Reserve in Hastings. It has been a long time ambition of race directors John and Cheri Storkamp to host a race at Spring Lake Park as both of them were born, raised and still live in Hastings today and have been visiting the park for over 30 years. While Spring Lake Park Reserve in Hastings is on the Southeastern edge of the Twin Cities, it is not quite as far as some might think – it clocks in at only 25 miles from downtown Minneapolis and 20 miles from downtown St. Paul. Spring Lake Park is perched on the bluffs high above the Mississippi River with stunning views of the deep river valley and contains some seriously awesome trails.
The Spring Lake 5 Mile consists of a fun and very runnable but rolling 5 mile course consisting of two loops in a figure-eight configuration. There is a mix of wide mowed trails through the prairie and single and double-track trails in the woods. There will be a water stop (and some mad cheering) after your first loop / approximately 5KM into the race. The elevation gain for the race is about 310 FT (62 FT per mile).
