Cross a finish line this spring!
Spring is right around the corner and we know the best way to get through the winter months of running is to have your next finish line in sight! We’re excited to bring you a custom race experience with our first Sports Backers Marathon, featuring a full, half, and 5k! Start and finish at Dorey Park, and run along the Virginia Capital Trail protected from traffic, and with course support! From March 12-14, you’ll be able to run the race of your choice, as well as pick your race day and start time. We’ll take care of the rest with onsite packet pick up, touchless bottle refill stations, timing, and of course great swag! Train confidently this winter and celebrate your hard work with us this March!
Official Course
- Course open from 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM from Friday, March 12 through Sunday, March 14
- Chip timed and USA Track & Field certified course
- Course will have a shared start and finish line in Dorey Park, mile markers, bottle refill stations every 2-4 miles, and restrooms near every bottle refill station.
- The course is on the Virginia Capital Trail, a 10-12 foot wide protected, multi-use path. The trail will not be closed for the event so please be aware of other trail users.
- There are several trail crossings on course, which are not closed to vehicular traffic. You must be prepared to stop when crossing these intersections.

If you are unable to participate at the official course, you can participate virtually on the course of your own creation. Upload your results by March 31 to be added to the virtual leaderboard.

Absolutely brutal ending but a very relaxing run and a good tune up for the year. Not worth running as a marathon unless you’re training for an ultra
