The Samoa International Marathon is on the beautiful island of Savai’i in Samoa. When you arrive in Samoa at Faleolo airport (Code: APW) please catch the ferry to Savai’i for the marathon. The ferry is 1h15m. We can arrange all transfers, transport and accommodation for visitors.
The course is Point to Point for all distances. The finish line is at the heart of the Savai’i tourism-belt in the beautiful village of Manase. There are a variety of accommodation for all tastes and budget right here.
The marathon starts at the historical village of Sapapali’i. This is where the missionaries that brought Christianity to Samoa landed on 24th August, 1830. The course is flat and coastal for the first 20km and back on the coast for the final 6km. The inland part, 20-36km has some slight hills and long stretches of rural road. Starts in the dark. Mandatory vehicle support for all marathon runners.
The Half Marathon starts at the Pu’apu’a village wilderness after the road leaves the coast. There are long straights and a few hills in the first 10km. There is a long downhill to the Lava fields, the rest of the run, 6km is on the coast.
The 10km starts at Mauga village. The first three km are on the slope down to the Lava fields. The last 6km is on the coast.
The 6km starts at the edge of the Lava fields at the village of Salelavalu, at the entrance to Bayview Resort.
The Savai’i Samoa Tourism 3km Family Walk is a celebratory participation walk / run for supporters and children. It starts at Le Lagoo and Savai’i Lagoon Resorts to the Beach Fales at Manase and Stevensons Manase.
