This is a great option if you’re looking for a half marathon with a small price tag. You get what you pay for for around $30 – t-shirt, cheap medal, and a race experience with a small field. I was looking for an available race in Michigan when I was in town for another event, and this fit the bill. The course is pleasant in that it’s on a trail that is part crushed stone, part macadam. There are a few roads to cross, but traffic was very light on a Sunday morning. There was ample water placed along the course is the form of cases of water bottles. One thing to be careful about is that there are no restroom stops along the course – not even porta potties. All in all, if you just need a race, it was well worth the price.
