This low-key run takes place on the pediestrian path in Huntington Beach, CA from Beach Blvd past the Pier and back again. As scenery goes this is pretty awesome. Labor day is over and there was very people to share the path with.
The cause here is Run For HOPE – a movement to provide mobile medical units for children in need. To raise awareness this is the starting point for ultra-marathoner Levi Rizk who will continue to run cross the country for the cause.
As runs go this was very low budget – it’s not timed and there is no bibs but you do get a nice T-Shirt and a snack bar and water at finish. The MC from the MLB Angels was on hand and he did get a great job. I estimate there were 50 of us including a 7’8″ runner – I am 6’3″ and it was quite an experience running next to someone that tall.
Very easy run except for the halfway mark where you had to run uphill sharply and stop if you wanted water.
All in All a good time. I do not know if this was a one time thing or if it may be repeated through out the country.
I would do it again.
We Run 3 miles; He runs 3000....
