Run Around the Block 15K Road Race New Shoreham, RI   Sep 6, 2025

First organized in 1975, the Run Around the Block 15K Road Race is one of the oldest races in Rhode Island as well as New England. The timed race is a hilly, winding run along mostly paved roads with a stretch of dirt road that appears twice during the route. It begins at Isaac’s Corner near Fresh Pond and ends at Fred Benson Town Beach Pavilion where there will be food, drinks and a refreshing dip in the ocean available as well as bathroom and shower facilities.

You will need to take a ferry or plane to reach Block Island. Please check the ferry schedules at Point Judith, New London, CT or Montauk for ferry information. For flight information check the schedules at New England Airlines out of Westerly, RI.

Accommodations should be reserved early if you plan to stay overnight.
