Our Rock the Run 5K started in 2015 to celebrate our 60th Diamond Anniversary of The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission and to bring the community together to help raise support and awareness for the homeless and hungry in our community.
Rock the Run 5K allows us to bring businesses, runners, walkers, competitors, and volunteers together to have fun, share some laughs, run or walk a few miles, and raise money for those in need. This year’s fundraiser will help us convert our front porch into a 4-season emergency weather shelter.
We encourage our participants to have fun with costumes and accessories and show us your pirate or princess side! We’ll be making this event a little more exciting with some pirate & princess-themed touches to everything. But most importantly, we want you to have fun because you’re supporting a great cause and doing something amazing for our community. So start talking it over with all your running friends, encourage others to join you, and then grab that eye-patch, tiara, and your running shoes for Rock the Run: Pirates vs Princess!

The Cause
Since we started Rock the Run 5K in 2015, the end goal has been to raise support and awareness about those in our community who are homeless and hungry. Join us for our annual Rock the Run 5K- Pirates vs. Princess. All proceeds from this 5K will benefit The Hope Center at Hagerstown Rescue Mission. The Hope Center serves the Hagerstown, Maryland community by offering food assistance, men’s emergency shelter, men’s life recovery program, youth and children’s programs, and more. Since 1955, we have done this to show our community the love of Jesus Christ.
Food Drive
As in past years, we’ll have donation boxes available for anyone who brings non-perishable food for our pantry. Food donated will be used in food bags to be distributed to hungry families, soup line and other free community meals served daily, meals for our residents, or any other special activity that takes place at The Hope Center for our community guests. Everything we provide is free of charge because of generous people like you!
