Toluca City, Mexico will become the newest destination for the series with the inaugural Rock ‘n’ Roll® Running Series Estado de Mexico, scheduled to take place this November.

This marks the first brand-new Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series event in Mexico since 2019 and takes the place of Mexico City on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Event calendar. Bringing the Fun to the Run™ through music, entertainment, and community immersion, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Estado de Mexico half marathon will take place during the morning hours, treating all participants to a race experience that highlights this historic city atmosphere.

Toluca City is the State of Mexico’s capital, with just a 40-minute drive, it is an easy day trip from Mexico City. There is a lot to experience in Toluca, from hiking, visiting many of its churches, botanical gardens, and the colorful buildings.

Race week will kick-off on Friday when the Health and Fitness Expo opens to the public, featuring the latest products and trends in the running industry. Runners of all levels from around the world will then take in the city center and streets of Toluca City on Sunday for the 10K and half marathon. After starting out at Toluca downtown main plaza, race participants will experience the beautiful streets, buildings, churches, and parks before they eventually make their way to the dreamed finish line. Playing along the history of Toluca City, the musically-themed event will amp up the on-course bands and DJ’s for competitors to enjoy as they race their way to a finish line after-party festival.
