Between a start near the Rock Hall, a show by singer Gavin McGraw at the finish, and local bands positioned almost every mile of the run, the Rock ‘n’ Roll Half Marathon is playing heavily to the city’s love for music.

What’s more, they’re making it about Cleveland. With a mildly hilly course focused on downtown and the near West side, the event is presenting a shorter, fall version of the metropolitan tour that is the Rite Aid Cleveland Marathon in May.

Also, by staging the pre-race Health & Fitness expo at the Cleveland Convention Center, Rock ‘n’ Roll is giving thousands a reason to visit the city’s new gathering place for the first time.
