Both the 50 Miler & 50K will consist of the beautiful single-track of the Pinhoti Trail across the scenic Horn Mtn. with those gorgeous, jaw-dropping views. These races are sure to become adventures you will be sure to return to year after year!
50 Miler
Rebecca Mountain 50 Miler provides superb characteristics! Rebecca Mountain is a Point to Point trail race from Hwy 77 (Porter’s Gap) to Sylaward Trail (Lake Howard) on the Pinhoti Trail (31 miles of single-track trail), forest service roads and Sylaward Trails (12 miles of single-track trails).
At the Start, Porter’s Gap, is home to Aid 13 (mile 70ish) of the Pinhoti 100. Once you start, you will be able to preview some of the most beautiful southern sections of the Pinhoti 100 course starting with Pinnacle’s famous relentless climb carrying you up Horn Mountain. Once you are on the ridge going across Horn Mountain, you will witness the many overlooks where you can see for miles & miles, Wormy’s Pulpit, Heath Cliff, Powerline, & Bull’s Gap. Most runners traverse this section of the Pinhoti 100 at night so this is a great opportunity to see the glorious Horn Mountain during the day. The ridge continues across Rebecca Mountain carrying you twelve miles until you reach Trammel Trailhead at mile thirty-one. At this point, you will run forest service roads for approximately the next six miles until you reach the sweet, rolling Sylaward Trails for the last twelve miles of the race. Elevation of the course is approximately 5,171 feet of gain, and you have 16 hours to finish this amazing race.
50K
The 50K will traverse along the same course as the 50 Miler for the first 19 miles captivating the same breathtaking views of the 50 Miler. Once you arrive at Bulls Gap (mile 19), you will continue right on the FS road for 7 miles until you connect to the Sylaward Trails carrying you the last 5 miles to the Finish Line at Lake Howard.
