Loved this race concept! There were movies and smores all through the night to keep runners awake and/ or fed, and the runners hand off tent was easy to maneuver. Not great sleeping/ facility accommodations, but i expected that. Race course was true Texas Hill Country-rocky with mild hills. Night time view was great! For the money I thought the swag was pretty pathetic- but overall would do again with the right group

Great event, well organized considering the size. Well marked trails for the race and instructions were great. The Food trucks were a bit inundated with the sheer volume of people. Need more food or instruct participants not to count on the food trucks. Overall a very enjoyable experience and would definitely do it again.

Bad: Some staff members were downright mean to runners. It makes the great staff members look bad. The hand pushed/pulled rickshaw carts to load/unload gear with this year were terrible. Not a bad idea if there weren’t a big rocky hill between the village and parking…you try hauling 100s of pounds of gear back up a rocky hill after finishing this event…
Ugly: By 10pm Friday every last portajohn was full. F. U. L. L. Like you couldn’t sit down. They weren’t serviced until 8am Saturday. It was absolutely disgusting. 60ish toilets aren’t enough for constant use by 2000+ runners unless they’re serviced every few hours.
