We came into this race as first time ragnarians, we read all the reviews and prepared accordingly but nothing prepares you. The weather was great 60-70’s which really helped but we got some rain at the beginning. The scenery is beautiful but the route is hard, thr night runs where very dark and scary I think they can put more markers and signs in these areas so you dont think you are lost. We did the motel night in the road which was a fantastic idea, recommend doing it.

This was my first Ragnar Road event & I thought it was great. There were adequate fueling stations, road signage, and the volunteers were fabulous!

On a 200ish mile route with varying sections, some scenery was great while others were just so-so. All 200 miles can’t be perfect, can they? Same goes for the course difficulty. Some legs were simple while some were extremely difficult. (I was still battling an injury and that could have played a role in my analysis.)

The camaraderie of your van mates is the best part of this entire event!

This was my first Ragnar Road. And this was the first time for this course for the Minnesota Ragnar. St Paul to Duluth. I have nothing to compare to. And as this was the first for this course my team mates who have done it before said it had some things that need to be improved but the route was beautiful. The problems were exchange points traffic. Not the best choices for some. The Munger trail portion was beautiful but wow went forever and was so hot. Just because the route was going north in Minnesota does not mean it will be cool in August. The Start and Finish areas were well organized and fun. Was a little disappointed there was not free beer at the end as in years before but not a game changer for me. would have liked the finish line to be at the Bayfront festival area rather than the Leif Erickson park, parking would have been better and access to Lake Superior to dip our toes would have been easier. It was quite the experience for this first timer and I am thinking about it again.
