Race the Wolf Ultramarathon & Trail Races

Race the Wolf trail race series has a course for everyone! Located at Schweitzer Mountain Resort, the course is know for legendary climbs, really fun single track and some super fast two-track. Not to mention the epic views that stretch from Lake Pend Oreille to Montana and the Canadian border. This is North Idaho’s rugged, scenic beauty at its best. You won’t be disappointed!

Saturday: 5 Miler Trail Race Sky Climb
Sunday: Trail Marathon (replaces the 52 km) Trail Half Marathon (replaces the 26 km)

Race the Wolf’s trail marathon takes runners on a full circuit of Schweitzer Mountain, over a variety of terrain with fast, fun single track and two-track. 26-ish miles (or whatever your Garmin says).

Race the Wolf’s half marathon trail race takes runners over some of Schweitzer’s best terrain. You’ll enjoy spectacular views and varied terrain from flowy single track to burly off-piste climbs, for a total distance of about 13 miles (or whatever your Garmin says).

Race the Wolf 5 mile trail race/fun run gives a great mountain running experience with less vert. and less technical trail. This super fun double- and single track trail runs through sub -alpine forests where wildflowers and wildlife abound, with views extending over the Cabinet Mountains to Montana and epic views of Lake Pend Oreille. Run the 5 Miler as a single event or as a back to back with one of the other races to become an Alpha Wolf.

RTW’s Sky Climb is a one mile uphill race that gains a total of 1660 feet beginning at Schweitzer Village and finishing at the Sky House. This is a grueling, beautiful climb over stunning, off-piste subalpine terrain. Wildflowers and wildlife abound, with views extending from Lake Pend Oreille to Montana. Run, hike or crawl the Sky Climb to make your epic race day victory, or run it as a second race with any other Race the Wolf event to become an Alpha Wolf.
