Experience some of the best trail running the Piedmont has to offer in the Race Across Durham, a unique trail marathon and 10 miler across Durham County, North Carolina. The course winds along the scenic Eno River following the Mountains-to-Sea Trail for much of the trail race.
You’ll find rolling hills, river views, forests, meadows and farms along the route. Most of the trail is single track with some rocky slopes and stream crossings. Be prepared for all the joys and challenges of the trail including unexpected obstacles, uneven terrain and possible encounters with wildlife.
The single track course is generally rolling with a number of short, but steep, ascents and descents. The course surface is mostly dirt, but includes many obstacles including tree roots, rocks, and uneven ground. The Mountains to Sea Trail passes through Eno River State Park, Durham’s West Point on the Eno Park, and Penny’s Bend Nature Preserve and affords views of the Eno River from high bluffs and riverside trails. Multiple old home and mill sites and the old Durham Pump Station are viewable from the trail. The trail also passes through old growth forests, dense laurel groves, old farms and bottomlands. The course follows the Eno River east to west on trails and greenways. There are only a few short roadside stretches and minimal road crossings.
Registration includes long-sleeve race shirt, fair trade handcrafted awards, chip timing, parking, shuttle service, drop bag service, aid stations, after-party (entertainment, food and beer) plus samples and promotional items from our sponsors.
