Rabat City International Marathon

Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Royal Moroccan Athletics Federation (FRMA) organized the Rabat International Marathon. This edition saw the participation of more than 20,000 runners representing 40 countries, and was won by Ethiopian Bantayehu Assefa, for men, and by Kenyan Lydia Cheromei for women.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the imperial city of Rabat will fulfill by architectural, quality of life and infrastructure all visitors and athletes participating in this unprecedented event in the capital of the Kingdom. This will also be the opportunity for everyone to work harder to better prepare for the World Championships in Athletics in 2015 Beijing.

Thanks to the involvement and support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the National Olympic Committee of Morocco, of the Wilaya, the city hall of Rabat, sponsors and partners, the media, all the athletes and the public, this first edition of the International Marathon of Rabat will, we are sure, a sporting event must for all lovers of Marathon and Morocco lovers worldwide.
