Punta del Este International Marathon

Located just 130 km from Montevideo, Punta del Este has been compared to Saint Tropez and many other famous spas. But it is unique, a strange and yet harmonious mix of things so contradictory: glamour from another planet with its rich and famous, its luxurious casinos and its million-dollar mansions, but also pine forests, maritime farms, modern buildings, dozens of kilometers of white sand beaches, Rio de the Silver and Atlantic Ocean separated by a few hundred meters and joining the turn of a magical peninsula, great brands of pret-a porter, gulls and sea lions, salty air and south wind, holidays, silence, rumble of nightclubs … there are for all tastes, all ages, all customs, with friends, as a family, in pairs or alone, to do nothing or to do everything. But always in the company of a sea that is always present, imposing, that envelops you and transports you.

The main peculiarity of Punta del Este, and what makes it so different, are its two coasts on both sides of the “peninsula” that marks the outer limit of the Río de la Plata: the “Mansa” beach, with calm waters, which it forms a wide bay that seems drawn with a compass closed by Gorriti Island; and the beach “Brava”, oceanic, that flees towards the Barra de Maldonado.

The Punta del Este International Marathon course will be closed to the traffic and clearly marked on the streets. Every km will be clearly identified. The maximum amount of participants is limited to 7000 between the four races.
