Provo Canyon Half Marathon is simply put a beautiful course. Run along the Provo River Trail in Provo Canyon passing Bridal Veil Falls and other historic landmarks. The thing that makes this course unique is that is heads towards Pleasant Grove along the new Murdock Canal Trail.

The course was beautiful passing through the canyon and by Bridal Veil Falls. The race started in a nice park that you either had to be bussed to or dropped of at. It was cold, but they did have a bag check. They had water and what looked like Gatorade before the start. Plenty of bathrooms, both porta-potties and the park bathrooms. The race is mostly run on a shared path with bikes and people not racing. The bike riders on the path were pretty aggressive. The first couple of miles were downhill with the rest being flat or very small hills. The finish line had bananas, ice pops, clementines, water and Gatorade. A couple of vendors but no after race party and the awards were super rushed, where they called up multiple age groups at a time. The age group medals looked like they were the previous years regular medals. Swag was a cotton shirt with no date on it and some coupons and pens. The race was inexpensive, so this was fine. The finisher medals were very nice, but again, no date.
