This is a bit late in reviewing this race, but debated commenting on it. If you are a football fan and you live closer to this race, this is the race for you. Do not expect too much out of it, however. I really wanted to like this race a lot, but the race director’s actions really showed me how little he cared. He did not seem to care too much about the fact that many of us runners from afar, did not receive our promised 3D championship ring medals until approximately 2 months later, or longer…. and THAT was HIS fault. Initially, the mess up was with medal company when we didn’t receive the correct medal. Only reason I received my medal when I did, was because I was persistent each week when following up after being told I would be receiving my medal in the mail “soon” and never did. Some people still hadn’t received theirs even when I did. It’s just a medal, but I don’t appreciate laziness and liars when telling people something you’re going to do and no follow-through.
The race finish was less than exciting. The music was been wired to the RD’s laptop/phone, and every time the phone rang the music had shut off, which was pretty often. Only thing at the finish line that was available was your basic water, bananas and pizza from a company that had been around 50 years (pizza was not good and hard as a brick when cold).
Other than the medal issue and production, the weather was great and cool for the duration of the race if you finished sooner. Scenery was okay in some places and finished in a nice little park. I appreciated law enforcement at every intersection with traffic to keep us safe. It was neat to start the race at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium and run by the Hall of Fame museum close by. Visiting the Pro Football HOF Museum was a treat after the race, and with a discount for admission having participated in the race. This race has a lot of potential and would suggest if the Race Director shows a little more effort and initiative than he did.

Nice technical dri-fit shirt with a football design. The race started on the stadium field. Nice flat course. Ran past the entrance to the Fall of Fame around mile 4. Ran through downtown Canton, the streets were empty at 8AM. The police were nice to be at every intersection to stop traffic. The only hiccup was the medal was not as advertised. The race director said they will send the correct medal out in about 10 days.
