The Holiday Jingle & Mingle Run is run on the El Dorado Trail in beautiful historic Placerville. The path is surrounded with beautiful oak trees, rolling hills, and incredible views. All races follow PINK RIBBONS for an out-and-back course heading eastward from the starting line at Mosquito Road.
For each distance, the path goes up a steady 3% grade to the turnaround point, and the second half of the race is downhill all the way to the finish. The Kids Run, 1 Mile, 5K, 10K, and 15K courses are run entirely on a paved bike path. The pavement ends at about 5.6 miles into the half marathon course, and the remainder of the distance to the turnaround point is run on a dirt and gravel path. There are several road crossings along the course. Most are private roads or smaller feeder roads with relatively little traffic, but each crossing will be marked with yellow ribbons to alert runners of a crossing with vehicular traffic. The race is held rain or shine. Strollers are allowed in the 5K, 10K, and 15K.

Nice local race without a lot of bells & whistles. The 10k course is a steady incline for almost 3 miles before you run over the freeway overcrossing to turn around, but then you are treated to a glorious downhill run on the way back. This race goes all out with the finish line food and snacks and family and spectators were invited to indulge. Entry fee does not include a shirt (can buy it separately) and the finisher medals are nothing special, so this is not a race you do for the bling. Overall it was a hard race but fun.
