Phoebe’s Flight was named after Phoebe Ferguson, who passed away just a few days after her due date. In their effort to honor Phoebe’s memory and support other parents who have experienced similar tragedies, Phoebe’s parents, Gavin and Stacy, started Phoebe’s Flight to raise money for the charity Phoebe’s Fund.
This is a family-friendly 5K fun walk/run which will be held on Phoebe’s 3rd birthday at Johnson-Springview Park in Rocklin, CA. This is an opportunity to come out with others who have directly or indirectly experienced miscarriage, stillbirth, and/or neonatal loss, and celebrate all babies that were lost too soon.
Phoebe’s dad, Gavin from The Wake Up Call on 106.5 The End, will be hosting along with Katie, Rayne, and Intern Kevin. There will be bounce houses and live music at the finish line. Last but not least, because Stacy’s biggest pregnancy craving while pregnant with Phoebe was root beer floats, your reward for finishing the 5K will be a free, frosty-cold root beer float at the Phoebe’s Floats station.
This is an event for celebration, but also, for remembrance. We encourage you to personalize this experience, perhaps by wearing customized shirts or carrying pictures of babies you are honoring. Feel comfortable in the company of others who understand this pain, won’t judge your sorrow, and will lift each other up. Please join us for Phoebe’s Flight!

This is a nice event with a half-mile Kid’s Fun Run and untimed Adult 5K. The location is very nice. It is in a large park that has lots of parking. The course is mostly dirt (some gravel). Some of it runs along a creek and some is beneath tree canopies. I signed my waiver and picked up my tee the day before. On the day of the race, I was given a wristband and sent to the start line. No bibs, bagels or bananas. But finishers do get a root beer float. I enjoyed this no-fuss run that is held for a good cause.
