Pendine Sands Races Pendine, Wales   Apr 5, 2026

The Pendine Sands 5k & 10k and Half Marathon are all on the beach. You may think that running on the sand will be extremely difficult, but at Pendine the sands are home to the land speed record attempts made famous by the Blue Bird car. This means that generally the sand underfoot is quite firm and absolutely perfect for running on, especially for barefoot running.

Half Marathon details
The Half Marathon is a loop, running the full length of the beach and then returning on quiet lanes back to the start.

10km and 5km details
An out and back along the beach, turning at a point where a race marshal holds a flag.
