Really enjoyed this race. This was my first time in Bend and the course was a pretty cool course to run. Lots of uphill towards mile 6 but made for a great downhill back to the finish. It was apparent that the running races of the overall festival were not the focus as there were only about 200 or so people who ran the 5k, 10k and Half combined. This was likely due to post-COVID concerns about large events.
Would have enjoyed a larger focus on the running aspects but was glad to run the race.

My wife and I both participated in different races for this event weekend. I was really pleased with how the event was run and enjoyed the general location as a whole. We stayed at an airbnb nearby and had time to explore the area before, during, and after our races. It’s a wonderful destination for a race if you like the outdoors. The event venue/expo area is pretty decent. The food & drink after the race was greatly appreciated as well. Despite the challenges of having to set up two exchange zones I did enjoy that the long course was a point to point race. It made the bike that much more awesome that you don’t have an out and back along a great stretch of road with great views (if you can pay attention to all those while racing). I plan on doing this event again next year.
