Ollie’s Ultra is a 12/9/6/3 hour endurance event hosted at Santa Fe Park in Chanute Kansas. Run on a soft chat trail at the old Safari Golf Course. Runners will complete a 2 mile loop during their selected time. Full loops only will be counted. No loops completed after the strict cutoff times will count. In the event of a tie the time in which individuals complete the last full loop will be the tie breaker.
There will be a fully stocked manned aid station at the base camp just past the start/finish line, with a variety of snacks and foods available as well as water. You are strongly encouraged to carry your own water bottle or pack even though it is just over 2 miles for each loop. There will be plenty of space for you to set up your own tent or “camp” in the area. As well there are RV camp sites nearby.
Course Rules and Info
1) Runners must complete the course on their own. There will be no pacers allowed for the duration of this race. The only Aid available for you to meet with your crew is at base station just past the finish of each loop.
2) A individual will be at the finish line at all times tallying loops. If you do not wish to continue at any point please check out with the director at the finish line. Once crossing and “checked in” for the loop completed, exit the finish area and proceed to aid stations or continue running your loops. There will be seperation of finish line and aid station so this should not be an issue. When entering back on the trail there will be a line marked on the trail where you must be back on to continue. you will have plenty of room this is just to avoid bottlenecking at the aid.
3) The race will run counter clockwise at all times. there is enough room for 2 people to run side by side but realize we will have people of all paces running and allow room for people to pass.
4) Any course cutting will result in an immediate disqualification. We are running the outer most part of the course and will be well marked so you dont get off track. Will also have reflective tape for after dark.
5) All 12 hour runners will be required to have a headlamp or light for after dark. Although some portions of the course may have light it will still be required.
6) No strollers, dogs, bikes will be allowed on the course.
