Join thousands of participants as we “Run as One” to raise funds and awareness for lung cancer research. The NYRR Run as One 4 Miler supports the fight against lung cancer and honors former Chase Manhattan Bank chairman Tom Labrecque, a lifelong never-smoker who passed away from lung cancer at age 62. Lung cancer affects a diverse group of people, with over 60% of those diagnosed having either never smoked or having quit smoking.
The course is the four-mile Central Park “inner loop.”
Mile 1: Start on East Drive near East 68th Street and run north, ascending Cat Hill.
Mile 2: Continue north and and pass Engineers’ Gate (East 90th Street). Turn left onto the 102nd Street Transverse.
Mile 3: Turn left on West Drive and run south through a series of three rolling hills as you pass the Reservoir on your left.
Mile 4: Enjoy a downhill, then a flat section. Turn left onto the 72nd Street Transverse and finish just west of Bethesda Terrace.
The post-race event is a health fair that showcases the work of several lung cancer foundations. Each foundation will have staff on hand to answer questions about lung cancer and provide information about the different programs available to patients and families affected by the disease.
