NYRR Newport 5K (Jersey City)

In 2019, NYRR added a 5K in Jersey City, NJ to bring runners across the Hudson to someplace new. The NYRR Newport 5K returns this May for the first time since its 2019 debut for a fast and flat morning 5K through Downtown Jersey City.

Our partners at Newport have created a charming green oasis on the Hudson River, filled with acres of parkland, art installations, scenic waterfront views and more. Enjoy the 3.1-mile course starting and finishing in Newport and passing by local landmarks like the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza and Exchange Place.

Runners will start on Washington St north of 14th St. heading south toward Christopher Columbus Drive where they will make a right. Runners will bear right onto the Newark Avenue Pedestrian Plaza, then turn left on Jersey Avenue and left again to get back onto Christopher Columbus Drive. Continuing on Christopher Columbus Drive to Greene Street, runners will turn left on Greene Street and continue north to Newport Parkway where they will make a right to the finish line.
