Al Gordon embodied the true essence of New York Road Runners and the incredible power of believing in every step! A remarkable track athlete in college, Gordon enjoyed an impressive 80-year career in finance and served as both a board member and benefactor of NYRR. He began running marathons in his 80s and maintained a regular exercise routine until his passing in 2009 at the impressive age of 107. The NYRR Al Gordon 5K is held in his honor, inspiring people of all ages to embrace the transformative power of running.
