I’ve completed the sprint version of this race 3 times, but this was my first olympic distance. I liked how there were fewer people in the water and more space between swimmers. The second loop of the bike route was a bit confusing, and they could have blocked off the course better so make sure you stay aware when you’re on the bike. I almost got hit by a driver who wasn’t listening to one of the police officers on site. Otherwise, they have a good crowd of people, pretty scenery, and lots of food for you at the finish line. It was super hot and they were very aware of this, with many ice packs and sprinklers available to run through. I’m definitely doing this one again.
