Since 2004 the Miami Man Triathlon has been the Premier Triathlon Experience in South Florida exceeding 2,000 participants in several years and selling out as early as May! For the first time ever, Miami Man will include a sprint distance triathlon (duathlon and aquabike as well), so those not wanting to tackle a longer distance will still have the opportunity to experience this one of a kind event.
What makes Miami Man so special?
- The weather in Miami is absolutely perfect in November!
- The run through Zoo Miami is an iconic experience. The International Distance runs a full 5 MILES on the public walkways of the Zoo, the most ever! (2 miles for the sprint)
The swim will take place in Larry and Penny’s crystal clear lake. The swim portion is open all summer long for swimming. Participants will start on the North side of the beach and swim a .6 mile loop clockwise around the lake. International distance participants will swim 1 lap, while Half Iron participants will swim 1 lap, exit the water, run through the arch and across the scoring line, then re-enter the water and swim a 2nd lap. Participants will encounter an aid station with drinks and food between the swim exit and the transition area.
The swim course and the crystal clear lake were extremely popular with last year’s participants as it was voted the 2nd best thing about the race, just edged out by the run course and followed by our volunteers.
The bike course is goes through rural areas of Miami-Dade County and the first 2 miles will be substantially improved from races at this location prior to 2021.
The new International Distance run consists of a full 5 miles on the Zoo Miami public pathway viewing animals! Way more than ever before! The International run is an out and back run totaling 6.2 miles.
