Ever wondered how far you could cover in a 6, 12, or a 24 hour period on a flat looped course? Locomotion is a timed run/walk on a 2.00-mile loop that is flat and is considered a highly runnable course at the Camp Jordan Recreation Area. See how far you can go by testing how many 2 mile loops you can finish within the time frame.
The Locomotion has received USATF certification and participants can embark on Tennessee state 6, 12, and 24-hour records.
Awards
The top 3 male and top 3 female in each event will receive an award.
There will be a Special Recognition Award for runners who can complete 50 miles in 12 hours or 100 miles in 24 hours.
Race Rules
Runners are responsible for your own food and water, although there will be an aid station at the /finish line.
Littering on the course will subject you to disqualification.
Final results will be calculated based on the number of total laps completed by the time limit.
If you are struggling at any point, race officials have the right to evaluate you, and it will be their call if you will be allowed to continue. These decisions will be made with your safety and desire to finish in mind.
Runners may have crew support every lap. The crew must stay in the designated area on the gravel RV Lot near the line.
Pacers will not be allowed unless they are registered participants.
Amenities
There is PLENTY of room to set up supplies, canopies, etc., and stay socially distanced.
There are restrooms on-site near the line and the backside of the course.
There will be a fully stocked aid station with drinks and snacks. Typical race food will be at the aid station. By no means will the aid station food be able to sustain you for the event. Therefore, we strongly suggest runners bring their own food to supplement their nutrition.
