The Lake Region Run has been the lakes area premier half-marathon, 5k and 1-mile event since 2007. To celebrate 10 years of Cancer Care in Fergus Falls, the half-marathon and half-marathon relay are being replaced with a 10-mile and 10-mile relay!
The beautiful scenery of the Fergus Falls area, the variety of race lengths and the temperate conditions in early June make the race a perfect fit for the casual runner or walker to the serious competitor who wants to tackle the challenging hills of the half-marathon course. Everyone can feel the camaraderie and community as they participate in the cause of raising money for the Cancer Care & Research Center while doing something good for their health.
The course is highlighted by a number of Fergus Falls area attractions. The course takes runners around Lake Alice, past the Regional Treatment Center, through the M State campus, over Veterans Bridge, by Hillcrest Lutheran Academy, through Lake Region Healthcare campus, and past the fire hall. A loop style course will certainly challenge even the most experienced runners and will finish near the Community Arena.
The 5K is a 3.1-mile race that is great for any and all types of runners and walkers! We will have average pace signs at the start of the race so that you are running or walking with others at about your same pace. Please line up near the closest to what you think you will finish to make the race friendly for all! This course is highlighted by running around up closed Friberg Ave and around Lake Alice finishing near the Community Arena.

Friendly race on rolling hills
The volunteers were friendly and helped as they could. I couldn't find the first aid station when I needed it. Pretty route. Helpful website. Pretty finisher medals. MORE
