If you’re going to race at Lake Pflugerville, make it no longer than a sprint! There is no shade on the course at all and it’s in the summer (So, Jack’s Generic, which is double for the Oly in the same location, is WAY too hot!) The water in the lake is murky but fine, and they try to mow the vegetation down. The bike course is rolling hills with mostly smooth pavement, and the run is super flat around the lake. No shade, but fast. The post-race party is good and there’s plenty for everyone, and the prizes they throw out are fun.
