The Kilkenny Ridge Race is a 25 mile out and back on the wild and remote Kilkenny Ridge Trail in its entirety. Runners will run from South Pond Rec area in Stark NH 100% on beautiful and rugged singletrack trail through pristine boreal forests, past mountain ponds, and soaking in endless views from scenic vistas! Along the way you’ll be summiting two 4,000 ft peaks and a half dozen 3000 footers as well. There will be 15,000 ft of total ascent and descent. 25 milers will be shuttled to the southern terminus and will run north to South Pond Rec area.

The course: A 25 mile point to point race on the Kilkenny Ridge Trail from Starr King Rd in Jefferson NH to South Pond Rec Area in Stark NH. Runners will traverse a high mountain ridge summiting 2 4000ft peaks and a half dozen 3000 footers as well. The Kilkenny is rugged and boasts 7000+ ft of vertical ascent. The course is also extremely beautiful! You will travel across miles of wild and woolly boreal forest that is unique to the higher elevations of NH. There are countless mountain views, ponds and streams to take in as well. This is truly a “backcountry” race..
Bus shuttle: There is no parking at the south end of the course. All runners MUST ride the bus to the start from South Pond Rec Area to race start at southern terminus in Jefferson, which is included in your race entry.

Due to the remote nature of the course and lack of ANY road crossings there will only be two on course aid stations(that you’ll pass in both directions) and another at the turnaround.
Qualifying: We require that you have finished a 50k challenging TRAIL race in order to enter. IF you think you have special circumstances (pemi loop, presi traverse or other crazy mountain adventures) that would allow us to let you run without the qualifier, reach out to us and we’ll discuss it.
