Join us for the Journal Jog, an 8K run and walk in Reno, Nevada that passes through Idlewild Park and along the Truckee River. It is family friendly. It is Reno’s oldest footrace and an annual rite of passage for many.
The course for this event will be the same as in the many recent years. The only difference will be that the start / finish line will be on Foster Drive outside of the Boys and Girls Club facility located at 1300 Foster Dr across from the Reno High track / football field. The Journal Jog for many years started and finished in this location. So in honor of the 50th anniversary of Reno’s Oldest Footrace we thought we’d move the start / finish area closer to where this race began and ended for many years. One other big plus about this location: as part of our Reno Running Fest and celebration of the 50th Annual Journal Jog we can have a beer garden in the parking lot of the Boys and Girls Club; we could not serve alcohol on the Reno High campus.
What You Also Get If You Sign Up For The Journal Jog:
– a Journal Jog finisher’s medal
– post-race refreshments and vendors and music at the Finish Line Party
– a complimentary beer at the finish party
– and entry into the Race178 Great Giveaway Extravaganza – must be present to win a GGE prize.
As part of the Reno Running Festival, the Reno 10 Miler and Journal Jog will be run simultaneously so you will have to choose between the races. You cannot run both of them.
