Istria 100 by UTMB

ISTRIA 100 by UTMB started in 2013 and today it gathers more than 2000 runners from all over the world. In 5 distances, 100 miles, 110k, 69k, 42k and 21k, courses combine every aspect of Istria: difficult and technical terrain, little bit of coasteering, old medieval towns, deep forests, city centres, muddy wallies, streams and brooks, canyons and many beautiful panoramas.

The 100 miles course is the hardest and the most beautiful course offered. It stretches from the eastern part of Istria, over its highest mountain down to the mainland, and ends on the western part of the peninsula in the city of Umag. Along the route, you will experience every possible aspect of trail running. The course in the 3000 years old town Labin, climbs the Učka mountain with the spectacular views to Kvarner region and descends in Buzet where your drop bag will wait for you. After the well-deserved rest, the trail leads you into mainland, filled with small medieval towns such as Motovun – the Istrian pearl and back to the finish in Umag. By looking at the course profile, it doesn’t seem that hard but trust us, this course is very demanding and it shouldn’t be taken lightly.
