IRONMAN European Championship Frankfurt

Germany’s urban playground along the banks of the Main river, Frankfurt-am-Main, offers the destination for the triathlon showdown of the year at the IRONMAN European Championship Frankfurt. The world’s top pro athletes race alongside age groupers on a course showcasing the region’s traditional villages and landscapes, culminating in a finish line on the historic Römerberg.

Swim
The one-loop 3.8 km (2.4 mile) ROKA swim course is worth of an European Championship. Two laps take athletes across the Langener Waldsee as huge jets from nearby Frankfurt Airport soar above them. A short “Australian Exit” separates the two loops.

Bike
The two-loop 185 km (112 mile) bike course leads through the picturesque villages surrounding Frankfurt, also called “Mainhattan” for its impressive skyline. Be prepared for huge crowds along the course and especially at the steep climb in Bad Vilbel.

Run
The four-loop 42.2 km (26.2 mile) HOKA One One run course is set to the skyline of downtown Frankfurt. While flat and fast this course can challenge even seasoned athletes in high summer but the stunning finish line at the historic “Römer” will make up for it!
