This is The City
Become One in the picturesque streets of Copenhagen. Being the home of one of the world’s oldest monarchies, Hans Christian Andersen, and the enchanting Tivoli Gardens, the Danish capital is the city where you never run out of things to explore.
Start your journey in the calm waters of Amager Beach lagoon and bike pass the idyllic “Danish Riviera” and into the beautiful landscapes of North Zealand. As you approach the iconic finish line in front of the Christiansborg Palace, you’ll pass landmarks such as the Opera House, Amalienborg Palace, Nyhavn, and the beloved Little Mermaid statue. Needless to say, this is the race for first-timers and PR chasers alike, and a perfect city break destination to bring your family and friends.
Swim
The one-loop 3.8 km (2.4 mile) swim at Amager Strandpark is one of the most spectator friendly course in all of IRONMAN. The artificial lagoon offers calm waters – this is where fast swim times happen and spectators line the shore and bridge across the lagoon.
Bike
The two-loop 180 km (112 mile) bike course takes athletes from Copenhagen through North Zealand with a mix of city center, coastline, sections with surrounding forests and countryside, including several spectator hot spots. Look forward to fast racing and great local support.
Run
The four-loop 42.2 km (26.2 mile) ROKA run course features the best sights in the heart of Copenhagen. Look out for some of the famous attractions along the course including the Little Mermaid, Amalienborg Castle and Nyhavn before finishing at the Parliament.
