The Hotoberfest 13.1 & 10K is completely run off public roads on a bike trail at Pennypack Park in Philadelphia with a 2.5 Mile gravel trail section. Features a gorgeous course along the Pennypack creek. 100% traffic free, matter of fact, you might not even see a single house or car while running in the woods. You will be supported by 7 aid stations, including the Oktoberfest aid station. Heidi, the Bavarian waitress will hand out gels at the 10 mile mark. Thekla Grund – former owner of the Old Brauhaus & Linda Weiss, reason #67 why Oprah’s weight is yo-yoing, (I did not make this up) will take care of you post race. If you are too slow to win an age group award, dress up. We will reward the best/funniest outfits (must have some kind of relation to Oktoberfest). We will once again hide some cuckoo eggs along the course. Find these eggs to win cool prizes.
Registrants receive a technical shirt with no advertising, Finisher medal, post race carbs, terrific course with no traffic, 7 super motivated aid stations, plenty of toilets, free parking right at start/finish area, unique awards and cuckoo hunt prizes.

Aid stations were plentiful and the volunteers were costumed and positive. The scenery at Pennypack was absolutely. No frills production with close parking, same day race pick up…grab your bib and go (which I appreciate). Awards were plentiful for age groups, medals nice, and the German themed post race food was an added bonus.
